Wiki
The few examples of wikis were helpful in comparing the types of programs other library systems are offering....a look at the ALA 2008 anaheim, CA event....and plan events by sharing ideas. The types of applications withing libraries that might work well wih a wiki are flickr photos and delicious. One of the interesting things I learned about Wikipedia is that it is a free encyclopedia that anyone can edit.

away from the icebergs
Libraries have been seeing a drop in circulation rates ove r the past twelve years, making it harder and harder to justify the continued buildup of a large "just in case" print collection. Patrons will be expecting to access everything - digital collections of jornals, books, blogs, podcasts....libraries have to jump on this opportunity now to eliminate training and create a new type of service offered - one-button commands such as Flickr, Blog This and easy to use programs like Google page Creator offering a new model of library services. Libraries need to acknowledge and adapt to future challenges.
technorati
I found that more technical information was on pbclibrary and more personal information on web 2.0
delicious
I found that delicious helps to find a subject a lot easier when it is grouped together with other subjects and learned how to change and rename a subject.
